Relationship between bearing size and load
 
The size of the bearing is an important factor to determine how much load the bearing can bear.

 
When selecting bearings, the following two methods can be referred to:
 
1. The load of rolling bearing is generally divided into light load, normal load and heavy load. It is defined according to the relationship between the equivalent dynamic load PR and the rated dynamic load CR.
 
For general bearings, they generally bear light load and normal load, and the contact stress at rolling contact is about 1000mpa-2000 MPa, while for rolling mill bearings, it generally bears heavy load. The equivalent load PR sometimes reaches about 0.5cr, and the contact stress is about 2000mpa-4000 MPa, even higher. Therefore, the rolling mill bearing is usually classified as heavy load bearing.
 
2. According to SKF data, bearing size is selected according to basic rated static load C0 under high temperature and slow rotation conditions.
 
At high temperature, the load capacity of the bearing is reduced. The nominal basic rated static load C0 is multiplied by the temperature factor ft.
